Squad

3.5/ 5 · Paid

AI teammates for recurring work

Lindy

3.5/ 5 · Paid

An AI teammate in your Slack that the whole team can hand work to

The short answer

Both sell themselves as AI teammates, but they're built differently. Squad gives you as many teammates as you like, each with one job, one schedule and its own access, for $99 a month flat, and the work runs on the ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini plan you already pay for. Lindy is one shared assistant that lives in your Slack, priced per user from $29.99 to $199.99 a month, with the AI included as credits.

Pick Lindy if you're one person, or a team that lives in Slack and doesn't want a second AI bill: Plus at $29.99 all-in is the cheapest way into either product. Pick Squad if several people will hand it work and you already pay for a strong AI plan, since $99 stays $99 whether two people use it or ten. Squad's real cost is $99 plus that plan, so $199 to $299 a month for most setups.

LimitsHosted only unless Squad agrees a custom setup, no free plan, and capacity tied to your AI subscription's usage limits. A busy squad can need two AI plans stacked, which pushes the total past $300 a month.Everything is metered in credits, about one cent each by Lindy's own figure. Everyday asks cost 2 to 250, deep work 250 to 1,000 and big builds 1,000 to 2,500, so a Plus seat's 3,000 credits can go in a few heavy jobs. When the pool runs low Lindy pauses credit-using actions, and plan credits reset each cycle rather than rolling over. Seats are counted by use: an @mention in Slack creates one. Connected inboxes are capped at 2 on Plus, 3 on Pro and 5 on Max, and SSO, SCIM, audit logs and a HIPAA BAA are Enterprise only.

What's good, what isn't

Squad

  • Pro: One flat $99 plan with unlimited teammates, not per-seat pricing
  • Pro: Uses the ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini plan you already pay for, with no per-task fees
  • Pro: Approvals, send caps and per-connection read or write scopes before anything reaches a customer
  • Pro: Each teammate gets a cloud computer and browser, so it can work in sites with no integration
  • Pro: No code: you describe the job and the Chief of Staff writes the process down
  • Con: No free plan; the real monthly cost is $99 plus a $100–200 AI subscription
  • Con: Depends on consumer AI plans whose usage rules can change under you
  • Con: Young product, renamed from MissionControlHQ in August 2026, with no independent reviews yet
  • Con: Plain-English instructions are harder to debug than a visual workflow

Lindy

  • Pro: AI usage is included in the price, so there's no second subscription to manage
  • Pro: Works where the team already talks: Slack threads, DMs, iMessage and a Gmail extension
  • Pro: Records Google Meet, Zoom and Teams calls into a shared, searchable meeting library
  • Pro: Per-integration guardrails: always allow, require approval, or never write
  • Pro: Memory is a set of plain files you can open, read and edit
  • Con: Priced per user, and anyone who @mentions Lindy in Slack becomes a billed seat
  • Con: Plan credits don't roll over, and the work pauses when the shared pool runs dry
  • Con: Guardrails only apply in shared Slack threads; DMs, the web app and iMessage aren't guarded
  • Con: Browser use (computer use) starts on Pro at $99.99 per user, not Plus

So which one?

Pick Squad if you're one of these:

Founders, agencies and small teams with repeating back-office work spread across Gmail, Stripe, a CRM and a spreadsheet, who already pay for a strong AI plan.

A well-designed way to hand recurring back-office jobs to AI, with approvals and per-teammate access that most agent tools skip. Budget for two bills, though: $99 for Squad plus the AI plan it runs on, and that plan belongs to someone else.

Pick Lindy if you're one of these:

Teams of a few people or more who live in Slack and want one assistant everyone can ask, with the AI cost bundled into the seat price.

A polished AI coworker for teams that already run on Slack, with the model bill folded into one per-seat price. The catch is that seat: anyone who @mentions Lindy takes one, and credits that run out pause the work until you top up or the cycle resets.

Squad vs Lindy: questions

Is Squad cheaper than Lindy?

For one person, no: Lindy Plus is $29.99 a month with AI included, while Squad is $99 plus your AI plan. For a team it can flip. Five people on Lindy Pro cost $499.95 a month; Squad stays at $99 plus one AI plan however many people use it.

Do I need my own ChatGPT or Claude plan?

For Squad, yes: it doesn't resell AI, and Squad suggests a $100 to $200 ChatGPT plan. For Lindy, no: model usage comes out of the credits in your plan, with top-ups at $10 per 1,000.

Which one has a free trial?

Neither has a free plan. Lindy's homepage offers $50 in free credits with no card, and people who join through Slack get a free first week. Squad offers a 7-day money-back guarantee on its $99 plan instead.

Which is safer to let near customers?

Squad holds anything that leaves the building for approval by default and lets you cap sends per day. Lindy lets you set each integration to always allow, require approval or never write, but those guardrails only apply in shared Slack threads, not in DMs or the web app.

Does either work without Slack?

Squad doesn't depend on Slack: you set up teammates and approve work in its dashboard, and Slack is one of its integrations. Lindy is built around Slack, though each person can also reach their own Lindy by web app, iMessage or the Gmail extension.

Is Squad the same as MissionControlHQ?

Yes. MissionControlHQ renamed itself Squad in August 2026, and missioncontrolhq.ai now redirects to squad.so.
