Best forFounders and small sales teams who do their own outbound and want contact data, email sequences and calling in one tool before they can justify a ZoomInfo contract or a separate sequencing tool.Sales reps, recruiters and founders who already have an outreach tool and need accurate emails and phone numbers for specific people, plus teams that want enrichment flowing into Salesforce, HubSpot or an AI assistant.
LimitsCredits decide what Apollo really costs. An email is 1 credit, a phone number 8, enrichment 1 to 8, an AI research run 1, and US dialing 1 per 30 seconds; the free plan gets 75 a month. Paid credits are pooled across the team and granted upfront, but they reset every billing cycle and never roll over, and add-on credits renew automatically until you drag the slider back to zero. The record selection limit (25 on Free, 1,000 on Basic, 2,500 on Professional) means bigger lists are built in batches. Free and Basic cap sending at 250 emails a day. All seats share one plan level, Organization needs at least 3 seats on a yearly contract, and the standard terms forbid using Apollo data inside a product you sell or share with customers.Credits are the meter. An email reveal costs 1, a phone number 5, a de-anonymized website visitor 2 and a recorded call analysed by conversation intelligence 8. Free gives 40 credits a month on 1 seat. On monthly billing, Starter gets 400 credits a month with no rollover, while Pro and Premium roll unused credits over up to twice the monthly amount; on yearly billing all credits arrive upfront and reset at the end of the year. Seats are fixed per plan (1, 1, 2 and 5), and the FAQ says teams larger than 5 should talk to sales. Per-user credit limits are described in the FAQ as a Scale feature, while the Premium card lists credit allocation, so confirm with Lusha before relying on it. The Do Not Call list check is on Scale only.

What's good, what isn't

Apollo

  • Pro: Free plan includes contact search, 2 sequences, the Chrome, Gmail and Salesforce extensions and 900 credits a year per seat
  • Pro: Data, sequences, dialer, meeting scheduler, call recording and deals in one product instead of four
  • Pro: An email address costs 1 credit, so Basic's 30,000 yearly credits per seat go a long way for email-only outreach
  • Pro: Integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Outreach, Salesloft, Slack and LLMs through MCP
  • Pro: Monthly billing exists on Basic and Professional, so you can try a paid plan without a 12-month contract
  • Con: A verified phone number costs 8 credits and the US dialer 1 credit per 30 seconds, so calling-heavy teams burn credits fast
  • Con: Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, including add-on credits you bought
  • Con: Every seat on an account must be on the same plan; you can't put one rep on Professional and the rest on Basic
  • Con: Downgrades take effect immediately with no refund for the unused time, and annual plans can't be moved to monthly mid-term

Lusha

  • Pro: Free plan with 40 credits a month, 1 seat, the Chrome extension and CRM integrations, no credit card needed
  • Pro: Paid plans include seats: Pro covers 2 users and Premium 5, instead of charging per seat from the first user
  • Pro: An email reveal costs 1 credit and a phone number 5, published in a credit table on the pricing page
  • Pro: Monthly Pro and Premium credits roll over up to twice the monthly allowance while you stay subscribed
  • Pro: API, webhooks and an MCP server connect it to Salesforce, HubSpot, Clay, Make, n8n, Zapier, Claude and ChatGPT
  • Con: Phone numbers cost 5 credits, so Free's 40 monthly credits reveal 8 numbers at most
  • Con: Starter credits on monthly billing don't roll over, and yearly credits reset at the end of the annual cycle
  • Con: The full API, CSV enrichment, signals and webhooks start on Pro; Free and Starter get the API with strict rate limits
  • Con: It's data, not outreach: there's no built-in dialer, and email sequences are basic next to a dedicated sequencing tool

So which one?

Pick Apollo if you're one of these:

Founders and small sales teams who do their own outbound and want contact data, email sequences and calling in one tool before they can justify a ZoomInfo contract or a separate sequencing tool.

A low-cost way to get a contact database, email sequences and a dialer under one login, with a free plan that's real enough to book first meetings. Credits run the meter: a phone number costs 8 of them, unused credits don't roll over, and you can't mix plan levels across a team.

Pick Lusha if you're one of these:

Sales reps, recruiters and founders who already have an outreach tool and need accurate emails and phone numbers for specific people, plus teams that want enrichment flowing into Salesforce, HubSpot or an AI assistant.

A quick way to get a verified email or direct dial for a named person, from LinkedIn, your CRM or an AI chat, with prices you can read before talking to sales. Phone numbers cost 5 credits each, so the 40 free credits a month cover very few calls, and team controls sit on the higher plans.
